Synchronicity holds the promise that if we will change within,
the patterns in our outer life will change also."

Ms. Cynthia T McCoy

"I'm honored to work with people who seek to change emotionally wounded aspects of themselves, and walk with them as they move towards healing perspectives."

My name is Cynthia Tobar McCoy and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)  in New Mexico and Oklahoma. I am honored each day to walk along side individuals who choose to therapeutically journey through the path of overcoming life stressors. Stressors can come in the form of experiencing conflict in relationships with family, couples, marital and peer groups, as well as grief, trauma and suffering from post-traumatic stress. Stress can also manifest itself when working to maintain a healthy recovery plan that addresses certain medical conditions of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder.

I utilize a variety of empirically based therapeutic models to meet the diverse emotional needs of each individual to include strength-based, solution-focused, client-centered, cognitive behavioral, dialectical, narrative, humanistic and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly researched and validated method to treat Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

My goal as your therapist is to help you identify what stressors exist in your life and how to best approach, manage and overcome them therapeutically. Guiding you through the process to help you achieve a sense of peace and calm and to live an emotionally balanced state of wellness offered in a supportive, safe, and compassionate setting.
